Regional Leadership Academy
About the Program
The League of California Cities API Caucus is excited to continue our partnership with The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) for the 2026 Orange County Regional Leadership Academy (RLA).
The 2026 APAICS RLA is a two-day leadership training event created to demystify the process of running for office.
RLAs provide current elected officials, individuals seeking to run for public office, and community stakeholders with the framework for running a successful campaign. APAICS partners with local organizations to deliver programming that consists of interactive training with topics ranging from developing your campaign plan, communications, digital organizing, power mapping, volunteer recruitment and management, and fundraising.
The OC RLA will utilize scenarios based on elected positions in the state of California; however, participants do not have to be from Orange County or the Southern California area to participate.

About APAICS:
APAICS is a national non-partisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander participation and representation at all levels of the political process, from community service to elected office.
Dates: Friday & Saturday September 18-19, 2026
Schedule: Training is all day on both days. Because of the interactive format of the training, participants must be able to attend both days.
Location: CSU Fullerton School of Business and Economics. 2500 Nutwood Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831
Cost of Attendance:
There is a $100 registration fee to attend the RLA. Upon acceptance, program participants will be asked to pay this amount. The fee covers the entire training, breakfast and lunch for both days, and attendance at a community reception after the Friday session of the training. Participants are responsible for transportation and lodging costs.
Academy Fees Waived to Dues-Paying Members:
If you are a dues-paying member of the League of California Cities API Caucus, the
