2019 Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) - Scholarship
About the Program:
The API Caucus is partnering with APAICS to bring our members scholarships for APAICS' National Leadership Academy.
The National Leadership Academy brings together a bipartisan group of promising AAPI political leaders from state legislatures, city councils, and local governing bodies all across the country to Washington, D.C. The program consists of interactive leadership training with topics ranging from planning your campaign, developing and telling your campaign story, base building and outreach and fundraising strategies. The program will also include special guest speakers and panels.
The Academy is a two day training from July 26 - 27, 2019 for current elected officials seeking re-election or advancement into higher office and individuals who plan to run within the next two years.
Participants receive travel stipend, two night hotel stay and complimentary ticket to the 25th Annual Awards Gala Dinner.
The Gala is the premier event in Washington, D.C. to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and takes place on May 14, 2019. The evening honors Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders, both current and pioneers, and recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations that continue to politically empower the AAPI community. The event is supported and attended by over 1000 guests.

There are only 5 scholarships available. Apply by June 28, 2019.
***To identify yourself as an API Caucus member in the application, be sure to indicate "League of CA Cities API Caucus Member" in the answer box for the question:
"Please list any previous political, fundraising, or media training events in which you have previously participated."
